2024 - From Idea to Reality

2024 - From Idea to Reality

12 months ago, we were screaming with joy! After 5 years of development, our packable helmet finally passed the safety tests required for certification, paving the way for us to start selling. This was a massive step forward for us after years of graft, stress and a few tears.

Since then, we’ve been hard at work getting ready for launch.

Laying the Foundations

In the run-up to bringing our product to market, we:

- Secured additional investment to support our growth.
- Built up our stock to meet expected demand.
- Established strong partnerships with brands like Brompton, Forest, and Selfridges.

With everything in place, we pressed 'GO' on September 18th 🚀

Glowing Reviews

Since launch, we’ve shipped more than 2,000 helmets, and the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. Our customers have rated us 4.8/5 on reviews.io, and Road.cc, a specialist cycling site, awarded the Newlane their highest-ever score for a folding helmet with a 4-star review.

Selling Fast at Selfridges

Our collaboration with Selfridges has been a highlight. The Newlane has been a top performer in their Smartech concession, with stock replenished three times already to meet demand.

Celebrity Endorsement

We’re proud to see the Newlane being used by a diverse range of riders—including some well-known figures. Presenters Ben Shephard and Jeremy Vine are customers, as is a member of the Royal Family 🤫

Going Global

The Newlane is now being worn in 18 countries around Europe and has made its way further afield. Bike-trekker Ben Chapman made use of our space-saving design on a 10-day trip through Southern India, showcasing its convenience and durability.

The Rise of Two-Wheels

It’s exciting to see more and more people opting to get around on two-wheels - ‘micro-mobility’ is growing really fast all over the world. Helmet use is widely promoted and in some countries it’s a legal requirement. Others take a more creative approach to encourage riders to protect themselves. Take a look at this hilarious Viking-inspired ad from Denmark.

A Big Year Ahead

Thanks so much to everyone who's supported us so far. We go into 2025 excited about what's to come next.
