We're Sponsoring the Brompton World Championships at King's Cross
Aktie
We're sponsoring the Brompton World Championships happening at King's Cross tomorrow. Pretty excited about this one.
Watch what it's all about:
What's the Brompton World Championship?
It's a global competition to find the fastest Brompton rider in the world. But here's the twist - everyone starts by folding their bike, running with it, then unfolding and racing off.
The format is brilliant. Riders line up in their smart casual gear (no lycra allowed), fold their Bromptons on command, sprint about 100 meters carrying the folded bike, then unfold and cycle to the finish line. It's part athletic competition, part comedy show.
Riders come from over 30 countries. Some are serious athletes training for months, others just love their Bromptons and fancy a laugh. The whole thing has been running since 2006 and gets bigger every year.
There are heats throughout the day, building up to the final where the world's fastest Brompton rider gets crowned.
Race format
This year’s race consists of 10 heats with 50 riders in each heat. Each heat will consist of 5 laps around a 900m urban track, which riders will need to complete within 15-minutes. Riders heats are determined according to the average times provided during the ticket registration process, and separated across both female and male/open categories. For each heat, there will be the traditional Le Mans style start, where you dash to unfold your Brompton and race around the track.
Each rider will be provided with a time chip and the top 50 fastest from across all 10 heats will then compete in their respective finals to determine the winners of the Brompton World Championships London 2025. For the final, there will be the traditional dash to unfold your Brompton and race around the track for 10 laps.
Why We're There
Brompton bikes and folding helmets just make sense together. Both solve the same problem - making cycling convenient without the bulk.
Brompton riders get it. They understand why carrying a massive helmet defeats the point of having a bike that folds to suitcase size.
Come Find Us
We'll have a gazebo where you can try our folding helmets properly. See how they work, have a chat, maybe grab a special event deal.
The whole thing happens at King's Cross, which has become one of London's best cycling spots. Easy to get to however you travel.
